Your license. And its limits.

Mercer is in development. It has not been submitted to or approved by Shopify and is not available for purchase or installation. We plan to distribute it exclusively through the Shopify Theme Store, subject to Shopify’s approval.

This license governs your use of the Mercer theme for Shopify, provided by ZBANG LTD. When Mercer is purchased through the Shopify Theme Store, it is licensed, not sold — you own your store and your content; we own the theme.

What you can do

• Install Mercer on the one Shopify store that the license was purchased for, and use it commercially there.
• Use it on that store’s development, staging, and duplicate themes while you build and test.
• Modify the theme — edit the code, settings, and templates freely for use on your licensed store.
• Receive published Mercer updates free through Shopify when they are released, using the Shopify Theme Store update flow.

What you can’t do

• Use one license on multiple unrelated stores. Each store needs its own license.
• Redistribute, resell, sublicense, or give away the theme or its source code — modified or not.
• List, submit, or sell the theme (or a derivative of it) on the Shopify Theme Store or any other marketplace.
• Remove or obscure the license, or claim the theme’s code as your own original work.

Purchases through the Shopify Theme Store

If Mercer is approved and listed, purchases through the Shopify Theme Store will also be subject to Shopify’s Theme Store terms and license, alongside this license. Where Shopify’s terms are more permissive or more restrictive on a given point, the applicable Shopify term controls for that point.

Updates

Published Mercer updates will be available free through Shopify when released, as described in Shopify’s theme-update guide (opens in a new window). This does not promise a release schedule, particular future features, or perpetual development. Migration of custom code is not included in standard support.

Ownership

ZBANG LTD retains all intellectual-property rights in the Mercer theme, including code, design, and the Mercer name and marks. Any modifications you make for your own store are yours to use under this license, but the underlying theme remains ours.

Our commitment

Standard theme support covers bugs and questions about Mercer’s settings and documented features. It is not limited to the first 30 days after purchase. We reply within two business days through our support form and follow the scope in the support policy. Custom development is not included. Purchase and refund terms are separate and are explained in the refund policy.

Termination

This license lasts as long as you comply with it. If you breach it — for example by redistributing the theme — the license ends, and you must stop using the theme. Ending the license does not entitle you to a refund outside the refund policy.

Warranty limits

The theme is provided “as is” to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in this license excludes statutory rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. See the terms of service for the full disclaimer and liability limits.
